Someone Asked Me a Question Today...
Went to a consultation with a perspective couple and at the end of the meeting the bride said to me "I know this is going to sound cheesy but I wondered if you could tell me what you like most about shooting weddings?" I think about this a lot and you would think this is a pretty popular question from our customers but it's really not. I tried to come off all cool and pro but the truth is my answer is just as "cheesy" as her question (which I actually didn't think was cheesy at all :) ). I like shooting weddings for so many reasons I don't even know where to begin...but if I had to pick one thing it would be that I like to imagine our couples when they come home and find our package on their doorstep. They smile, open it and hopefully go through a range of emotions as they look thru them and those are the moments I wish I could be there. :) The "ooohhs" the "aaawwwsss", the tears, the laughter...I wish I could see that. Or I at the very least hope that's what happens when they see their final product!
Knowing that I caught a moment that is going to be a part of a family's history forever is what makes this job not a job. Cheesy or not, it is the tender moments of love I get to see that will keep me in this career for as long as the industry will let me...or as long as the couples will have me. ;)
