Washington DC Enagement Session | Colleen & Pierce
What an exciting, whirlwind of a weekend we had. First, a fabulous and fun wedding on Saturday (photos to come!) and second, a gorgeous Engagement Session with a gorgeous couple in gorgeous Washington DC. Yes folks, someone has to live the good life so why not us?? Meet Colleen & Pierce. We had the pleasure of photographing this lovely couple in DC this past Sunday and Monday. We were able to get a teeny tiny bit of night photography in with them on Sunday evening but the majority of our session was held on Monday. Very sweet couple and John and I had a grand time hanging out with them and getting to know their story (any session including pizza and beer is my kinda session!)
Here is one of the evening shots we were able to get that I loved. J Paul's is a favorite bar of ours (DC is a little getaway for John and me when we need to decompress). By this time of the night they had closed the windows but it allowed us to get this cutsie shot.
The next day John and I took Colleen and Pierce for a walk on the C&O Canal, which is truly lovely. There were so many earthy parts of this path but also a little area that looked like you magically stepped into a side street in Paris. You all know how I looooove the big, dramatic, gigunda photos and we saw this adorable boat just hanging out. So of course we asked Colleen & Pierce to risk their life by walking out onto this little spot. You can't see it but there is a waterfall right underneath them.
And where I shoot gigantic, John shoots tight (that's why we are "Team Craig: Awesomest Wedding Photography Couple Ever"...I should get a trademark on that gem).
Just scrumptious. How could I pass up this hugeness?? Look at that gorgeous arch!
And again with the sweet closeness....
And this is probably my favorite shot from the day. I love the dark shading, their silhouette and the color and reflection on the other side of the darkness. Great contrast.
