#PhotowalkPGH
It's that time folks! Photo Walk (year two) has begun. Grab your DSLR and hit the streets with John! PS--isn't that an amazing photo he took above??
Did Santa bring you that new camera you begged for while perched upon his lap this Christmas?? Want to learn how to actually use it?? Well...this is your chance. For the past six months, John has been meeting people right outside of our studio to go for a walk. That's right...a walk with you, your camera and your bag of questions. And guess what?? Merry Christmas to you all over again because it's FREE! Yes....FREE!!!! The goal is to get people moving and create something new.
For this community to grow, we need your help. We need you to start spreading the word. Even if you can't come, but you think nurturing a free community-based art group is a good idea, then we need you to spread the word. Facebook. Twitter. Pinterest. Your blog. Your big fat mouth. Whatever way you can get the message out there, we'll take it.
Here are all the deets for the next 3 months:
LOCATION: Our studio on the North Side at 502 W. North Ave. PGH 15212. On-street parking is free. John will meet you all on the front porch of our building. If it rains or snows we will meet inside the building.
DATES: 1/24. 2/21. 3/20.
Time: 10am
And here's a fun little extra for all of you: our very good friend, and INCREDIBLE photographer, David Burke, will be joining John for these 3 walks. And listen folks, you do not want to miss this. We actually got the idea of holding free community-based photography get-togethers from him. He's an amazing teacher so between him and John, you have a duo that is jammed-packed with more knowledge than you can probably hold in your head at any given time.
Photo Walks are RSVP only. Email us at elizabethcraig@me.com to reserve your space. And, as always, bring a friend or make a friend.
These Photo Walks are aimed at those of you who have DSLRS, but fear not you phone-photographers and instagramers; you are welcome too. John has some tips for you.
In the meantime, enjoy this fun diddy of a film John created while we were in DC enjoying New Years!
