Screen Shot 2016-07-07 at 9.53.00 AMAnd we are onto part deux of the fantastical Baroque Session that I had the absolute pleasure of photographing and creative directing. If you haven't had a chance to see the most amazing floral wig ever, be sure to pop on over to my first post about this inspiration session. Carmel and her team at Mt. Lebanon Floral simply outdid themselves!! And though the photos below were taken at my studio, 2 outfits you see above were taken at Mansions on Fifth so a big shout out of THANK YOU to them for allowing us to use their spaces. Still haven't come down off my geeked-ness about getting this published in Flawless Magazine!

Can you even get over that wig?? When Lee Ann, owner of At Home Beauty, and I first started discussing this shoot, we knew we wanted the hair and makeup to be the pinnacle of everything. Of course fashion had to play a big role as well, considering it was specific to a time period, but for me, the hair was to be the main event. As we moved into what we were looking for, Lee Ann asked if she could borrow a wig I had in the studio that I had never even used yet so she could figure out what direction she wanted to go once she got her hands on the real deal, which she borrowed from a friend that designs all the wigs for the Pittsburgh Opera. As it all started coming together, both Lee Ann and I realized we had to photograph her final creation with this particular wig. Though we knew we wanted big, refined and more traditional for the white wig, Lee Ann pushed this gray wig a bit further outside of tradition and made it messy, intertwined and dimensional. I instantly fell in love with it.

But we knew the fashion had to be mostly nonexistent. If you follow my blog, you've seen this skirt a dozen times or so. It's a fan-favorite and it fit well with this look. So, white airbrush paint, white body paint and some incredible eye makeup...and that wig. Voila! We had magic. Christina, our lovely model, did such a beautiful job of infusing such a sexy poise into the photographs. My gosh...those eyes.

And don't forget to watch the behind the scenes that John filmed!
