You, Me, Us. Pittsburgh Portrait Photographer

I don't think I can say I have one particular favorite type of shoot I get to do in my studio, but I will say, when I can get mamas, grandmas and daughters together to have a fun-filled day of makeovers, photo shoots, love and laughter...well...that's a good day. I've known Jasmine for about 5 years now and have had the pleasure of photographing her several times, including her engagement and wedding. It has been such a delight getting to know this kind, lovely, strong and super-smart gal. So when she contacted me for a Generations Sessions I was over the moon!

You see, Jasmine, her mom and her grandmother all share the same birthday. Can you believe that?? Even better, Jasmine and her grandmother, who goes by Sweetheart (seriously...can you get anymore awesome and adorable than that??), decided to completely surprise Jasmine's mom with the shoot. And Jasmine put a lot of work into it!! She made sure Sweetheart had a new outfit and rented gorgeous dresses for both her and her mom from Rent the Runway (one my fave things to do). The night before the shoot Jasmine and Sweetheart spilled the beans and I cannot even begin to tell you how excited Kathryn was the next day in my studio. She was simply beaming the entire day! At one point she stopped and said "I just feel so sexy!"

What was also so lovely was the reaction each of them gave when I would pause and show each a photo of the other during their individual shoots. There wasn't a dry eye in the house and seeing the reaction of that much happiness over each of them enjoying their day so much was truly so wonderful.

But you know what the best part of all of this is? They will forever have these photos to look back on and reminisce. They will be able to pass them down through generations to come and have such beautiful visual documentations of the day they shared together. That's timeless.

That's one heck of a lovely legacy, if you ask me.
