The Age of Beauty. The Beauty of Age.
At what age have you felt your most beautiful, so far? And I don't just mean physical beauty. You know what I mean...
The older we get, the more beautiful we are. You may not know the stunning woman in these photos, but let me tell you...she would agree with this statement.
I'm aging. I have wrinkles. I weigh significantly more now than I did in my 20's and every 6 weeks I have to go to a salon to cover resistant gray hairs that continually fight me to see the light of day. But I am absolutely more beautiful today than I was in my 20's.
Yes, it is because of the normal things you'd think I'd list for why I believe that: confidence, wisdom, time to figure things out a bit. But really, for me, it's a sense of freedom that comes with age that really makes me feel like a better version of myself than I've ever been and here's why:
I now have absolutely no inclination for bullshit. And that, my sisters, is the beauty of age.
You ladies in your 40's and beyond: tell me, please, how much more sensitive your bullshit meter is now compared to your 20's and 30's? I don't know about yours, but mine now has a hairpin sensitivity setting.
So here is the good news to all you ladies out there that haven't quite reached this level of beauty yet: the older you get, the less you care. And by that I mean, the less you care about things that simply don't deserve the attention and energy to care for. It's a freeing sensation and when you get there feel free to email me and let me know so that I can officially welcome you into the club.
This gorgeous woman has been photographed by me a number of times and each time she just gets more and more beautiful. She's so wicked smart, gracefully confident and so very funny, and I have enjoyed each new session with her more than the last. On this occasion we were celebrating her reaching what I like to term "The New 20's". I know most women call their 40's the new 30's, but I'm officially taking it down a decade. I've watched women like this one in these photographs take over the world with more dynamite, charisma, smarts and wit than any 20-something I've ever met.
So, if you haven't quite reached this age yet, or if you're fighting it tooth-and-nail, let me be the first to extend and invitation to our club. It's so fun, it's so uplifting and it will give you a level of freedom that you have never felt.
There's room here for you. I'd like to say that I'll save you seat but in this club...we don't sit for very long. Taking over the world isn't for sitters.
